Carroll Hill Elementary School began it’s new after school Garden-Based Learning Pilot on March 19, 2017, which will run weekly until June 14, 2017. The program teaches students about gardening and healthy eating. They will be creating their own raised garden beds, planting seeds, and watching their plants grow! Other activities include designing and painting their own plant markers from painter’s sticks and writing in personal journals about their experiences. The Junior League of Troy donated supplies such as Sharpies, paper, and plastic bins for the students. Member Hannah Trasatti volunteered on April 5 with the children after school from 2:00-4:00pm.
